Budget 2025: What will become cheap, what will cost more

New Delhi: The latest Budget by Nirmala Sitharaman, her eighth in a row, announced a major rebate for the salaried class. This is expected to increase the disposable income of the middle class considerably.
Outlining her Budget focus, the FM said she had a five-point agenda. They are: 1. Accelerate growth 2. Secure inclusive development 3. Invigorate society and industry 4. Uplift household sentiment and 5. Enhance spending on power of the middle class
As per the budgetary announcements, here are the items that could become cheaper:
Mobile phones: 28 additional goods for mobile phone battery production will come in the exempted capital goods list.
Lifesaving drugs: 36 drugs will be added to the list of medicines fully exempted from Basic Customs Duty.
Frozen Fish Paste: Customs duty on Frozen Fish Paste (Surimi) is to be reduced from 30 per cent to 5 per cent for the manufacture and export of its analogue products.

Open Cells of LCD/LED TVs
Cobalt products
Scrap of lithium-ion battery
Marine products
Items that have become costlier:
Flat panel display
Knitted Fabrics
The prices of telecom equipment and plastic products are also set to rise due to higher duties.
