Who is Kenishaa Francis, the singer-healer rumoured of romancing Ravi Mohan

A Bengaluru native, is now in the news because of her rumoured romance with South Indian star Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi). She is a singer, actress and spiritual healer who refuses to be confined to the single description of a notable performer in Goa's party clubs. Her name has been appearing in gossip columns alongside that of Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi), who portrayed the character Ponniyin Selvan in Mani Ratnam's film epic film, 'Ponniyin Selvan.'

From reality show to stardom and fame
Kenishaa's career as a singer took off after she became a finalist in the reality show 'The Stage'. Her talent for enthralling audiences with live performances and solo acts propelled her to fame. She expanded her musical horizons to include English, Tamil, and Hindi. Kenishaa didn't want to be known only as a musician; she's also an accomplished dancer and a licensed psychologist.

Her passion for music and her profession as a therapist were inherited from her mother, who was an artist, therapist, and musician. Kenishaa made her Hindi music debut through the video song 'Blue Naina,' produced by Zee Music. Kenishaa maintains close relationships with South Indian celebrities and singers and has a significant social media presence, with aroud 90,000 Instagram followers.

South Indian star Ravi Mohan and his wife Aarthi ended their 14-year marriage after news of their separation emerged. It was then that Kenishaa's name started appearing in gossip columns linked to Ravi Mohan. Ravi and Kenishaa first met and got acquainted at the launch event of the song 'Idhayam Solvatho.' Reports suggest that their relationship strengthened after Ravi sought therapy from Kenishaa and become captivated by her mesmerizing voice. It's rumoured that Kenishaa provided Ravi with emotional support as a psychologist, which is believed to be the foundation of their closeness.

A Tamil magazine reported that Kenishaa and Ravi were fined for speeding in Goa, and the notification reached on Aarthi's phone, leading her to the revelation of the relationship. There are also rumours that they bought a bungalow in Goa on the day of Ravi's 14th wedding anniversary with his wife, further straining his marriage. In September, Ravi Mohan announced on social media the end of his 14-year marriage to Aarthi, shocking fans and family. Aarthi responded on social media on September 11, 2024, claiming that the announcement was unilateral and was made without her knowledge or consent.

Aarthi's post, expressing shock and sadness at the announcement and highlighting the importance of mutual respect and privacy during the separation, and mentioning the emotional turmoil experienced by her and her children, fuelled rumours that Ravi's relationship with the singer was the cause of the marital breakdown. After the divorce petition was filed, and reports linked Kenishaa to the marital breakdown, she clarified to the media.

Kenishaa explained that she and Ravi first met at a song launch last year, and there was no close relationship then. She stated that Ravi approached her for counselling after filing for divorce due to marital issues, and he was emotionally and mentally distraught. She further mentioned that Ravi approached her to keep his seeking professional help in Chennai confidential. Ravi also supported Kenishaa's statement, questioning why a third person was being dragged into the matter and mentioning their plans to open a healing centre together in Goa, for which they are currently searching for a location.
