The series, which began in 2000 with 'Angels & Demons,' featuring Robert Langdon as the main character, captivated readers worldwide. Other books in the series include 'The Da Vinci Code' (2003), 'The Lost Symbol' (2009), 'Inferno' (2013), and 'Origin' (2017). 'The Secret of Secrets' is the sixth instalment in this series, depicting Langdon's adventurous journeys solving complex problems involving history, art, science, and religion. Over 250 million copies of Dan Brown's books have been sold worldwide.
The synopsis of 'The Secret of Secrets' states that the story begins with Harvard symbology professor Robert Langdon travelling to Prague to attend a lecture by renowned notation scientist Katherine Solomon. Katherine Solomon is preparing to publish some groundbreaking findings about the nature of the human mind. However, a brutal murder occurs, and Katherine and the manuscript of her book disappear, forcing Langdon to investigate the case.
Film adaptations of Dan Brown's books have also been hugely successful. Three films directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks - 'The Da Vinci Code' (2006), 'Angels & Demons' (2009), and 'Inferno' (2016) - captivated audiences. In 2021, 'The Lost Symbol' was adapted into a 10-episode series on the Peacock platform, but it was later abandoned.
