Following the tragic accident that killed four people, including a newlywed couple in Pathanamthitta on Sunday morning, Kerala's transport minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that the preliminary assumption is that the person who drove the car slept off. The minister said, "We should develop a driving culture where we prioritise sleep if we feel drowsy. The accident happened just about 7 kilometres away from home. The driver might have thought he could sleep after reaching home." He added that you should also drive after sleeping enough. "We are constructing air-conditioned rooms for KSRTC drivers to sleep in. It was inaugurated in Palakkad yesterday, and the construction is in progress in Thiruvananthapuram," he said.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, usually employed tips to stay awake while driving late - like talking on the phone, playing loud music, having snacks or candy, rolling down windows, pinching yourself, slapping or hitting on your body might not help you stay alert always.
