Makhanas are the go-to superfood for those trying to lose weight without worrying about binge eating or calorie intake. The high-fibre, low-carb snacks, which are great for handling hunger pangs, are also rich in potassium, calcium and protein. However, do you know how much of it is too much? Just as in the case of any food, consuming it in excess can disrupt your weight loss journey, affect your digestion and even cause constipation. How much of it is enough for a day? According to experts, just a fistful of makhanas a day, up to 60 gms at a time, is the right quantity to consume daily. Here are a few easy ways to include makhanas in your diet for weight loss:

Light roasted makhanas
The process of roasting improves the flavour of fox nuts and makes them crunchier. They also get a nutty taste and aroma after roasting. If you add your favourite spices, the taste can become even better. You can add them to salads, smoothies, porridges, and soups, too.
Makhana stir fries
Toss the nuts into vegetable stir fries to give them a savoury flavour. You can also add them in chaats, parathas, granola, and in a homemade granola bowl
