The ministry of Ayush says that ginger oil contains sesquiterpenes, bisapolene, zingiberene and zingiberol that are known for their incredible medicinal properties.

In a tweet, the ministry said, “Ginger from your kitchen can go a long way in keeping diseases at bay. The humble ginger not only adds flavour to your dishes but also serves up numerous health benefits.”

Special ginger concoction

Ginger could be chewed and ingested or consumed as a concoction by boiling it. To make the special ginger kashayam or concoction, mix two or three pieces of crushed ginger, 2 tbsp coriander seeds, 3 tbsp jaggery and half table spoon pepper corns in 300 ml boiling water. Reduce the liquid to half. Add a pinch of salt as well. The Ayush ministry prescribes to consume half glass of this concoction on an empty stomach. Besides, you could also drink it two or three times in a day.

Immerse ginger pieces in boiling water for at least 10 minutes. Add some lemon juice. You could add honey if you prefer it sweet. Drinking ginger tea daily would improve the immunity of the body.
