This small family of four have always dreamed of building a beautiful single-storey house in their home town in the countryside of Muthalakodam near Thodupuzha. The couple who are both teachers believe that such structures would help build better communication and bonding between the family members in this age of busy lifestyle.

The house that stands in a 21-cent plot has a sit-out, formal and family living area, dining space, kitchen with a work area and four bedrooms included in 2900 sqft.

The interiors have been designed in a semi-open style. Meanwhile, cross ventilation and ample natural lighting are ensured in all the areas, especially in the common spaces and the four bedrooms.

The entrance door opens to the elegantly designed formal living area. The opening here lets in mind-blowing views of the nearby paddy field. Sitting spaces too have been arranged on both sides to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Bay windows have been arranged in the bedrooms that face the paddy field. The family says that opening your eyes to the scintillating sight of lush greenery and cool mist in the morning is the best way to begin a day.

The living room could be deemed as the centre of the house and the rest of the areas have been arranged on both sides.

The bedrooms are on the left side of the structure while the dining area and the kitchen are on the right side. Such carefully designed layouts play pivotal roles in keeping the interiors vibrant and space efficient.
