Prashant Menon, an expatriate, is ecstatic about his brand new house at his hometown in Kondotty, Malappuram, Kerala. As the family is settled abroad, they wanted a house which is easy to maintain. They preferred more common spaces that are vaster and spacious and less bedrooms as friends and relatives often visit them when the family is here for the holidays.
The house faces the east direction. The paddy field and the small hills in front of the house offer a spectacular sight of nature. The structure is built by leaving enough space in the front so that the family can enjoy the beautiful sun rise and the cool breeze that flows from the fields in all its glory. Meanwhile, the front yard is paved with natural stones and grass in alternate layers.
The fabulous mansion, designed in 2985 sqft, has a sit out, living and dining areas, courtyard, pooja space, and kitchen with an adjacent work area, three bedrooms, upper living space and balcony.
The common areas are designed in the semi open style to make them vaster. The living and the dining areas and the courtyard are all part of the spacious hall. The flooring is done using vitrified tiles. The custom made furniture perfectly suits the general theme of the house.
The vast, double height courtyard is the highlight of the interiors. Pergola glass has been paved on the ceiling to bring in natural sunshine. GI grills and MS jali sheets have been installed on the sides to ensure safety. The floor of the courtyard is paved with natural stones and grass to add a hint of greenery inside the house. One could easily grab a view of this beautiful courtyard from the living and the dining areas and also from the master bedroom on the ground floor.
The kitchen cabinets are made in multi wood with laminate finish. The counter top, meanwhile, has been paved with nano white. An adjacent work area too has been arranged as part of the kitchen.
The bedrooms have attached bathrooms and in – built wardrobes for storage.
The hand railings of the stairway feature the classic combination of wood and toughened glass finish. The stairway leads to the spacious upper living area. Windows line the wall here to let in the pleasant breeze that flows from the paddy field. Glass sliding doors too have been installed here to ensure excellent air circulation.
This magnificent abode, with its splendid features and eye catching designs is now awaiting the family to return, to create some memorable moments here.
