Sajin and Vani are excited to show around their brand new house at Kovoor in Kozhikode district. An expatriate, Sajin had decided to build his dream home on the 8 cents plot, closer to his ancestral house. “The plot became smaller as we had to give up some area to make an entrance to the house. We wanted a house that looked vaster and had the luxury of abundant supply of natural light and air. We were sure that designer Sajeendran Kommeri could come up with a brilliant plan that suited our needs,” says Sajin.

This fabulous abode designed in 2100 sqft looks like a majestic mansion from the outside. The structure is built in three levels to make it look incredibly vaster. The spacious porch is the highlight of the exteriors. The balcony, meanwhile, has been arranged just above the porch. The roof above the porch that projects from the façade plays a vital role in making the house look huge.

The serene charm of the white hue fills both the exteriors and the interiors of this house. The laterite stone claddings on the exterior walls are truly eye catching. The same color theme and designs are continued on the compound wall as well.

There is a car porch, sit out, living area, dining space, three bedrooms, kitchen with an adjacent work area, upper living area, balcony and an open terrace in this beautiful house. The interiors are designed in the semi open theme. However, the bedrooms and the kitchen have been arranged ensuring enough privacy.

The double heighted ceiling of the dining area makes the interiors look incredibly vaster. The stair area too is in double height. The pergola skylight on the ceiling here invites lots of natural sunshine into the house. On sunny days, there is no need to switch on the lights until twilight.

Windows line the wall beside the stairway, which brings in cool breeze. The custom made furniture amazingly compliments the general theme of the house. White vitrified tiles are paved on the floor in most areas. Meanwhile, wooden finish tiles are used in the living and the dining areas.

The double heighted wall in the stair area is highlighted with attractive wall paper. The transparent hand railings made with toughened glass and wood is strikingly beautiful and gels well with the chic interiors. A small courtyard too has been arranged here. Arranging a storage space beneath the stairway shows how space efficient this mesmerizing house is. A TV unit and a sitting space complete the upper living area.

There is one bedroom in the ground floor. The remaining two bedrooms are in the upper storey. All the bedrooms are bath attached with wardrobes for storage and separate dressing spaces as well.

The open kitchen dons the spectacular color combination of green and white. The cupboards are done in multi wood with auto paint finish. Meanwhile, marble is paved on the counter top. A small breakfast counter too has been arranged here.

“Even when I was in Kuwait, I made sure to give the necessary instructions and communicated regularly with the designer. Moreover, my family coordinated everything amazingly. Designer Sajeendran understood our requirements and managed to complete the construction in less than 11 months. We celebrated the house warming ceremony in January this year. I returned to the Gulf after that. Lots of people liked the pictures of our house that I shared on the social media. They congratulate me for building such a wonderful abode. Now, I am eagerly waiting to return to my dream home after the Covid 19 threat subsides,” said Sajin from abroad.
