Long sleeves, bright pinks and purples and beautiful floral prints have now found their way to men’s outfits, taking their fashion games a notch up. Modern men like to dress up in attractive clothes and do not mind having feminine elements in their outfits. These fashion choices cannot be brushed aside as mere high fashion trends as these designs are now spotted on the ramps as well as on the streets. Youngsters prefer wearing bold hues and designs for wedding functions to be the centre of attraction.

Menswear on the ramp
The A/W Men’s Wear Fashion Week 2025 and the India Men’s Fashion Weekend that was held last week presented some spectacular trends in men’s fashion that are likely to rule the industry this year. Unique designs, vibrant colours and a variety of fabrics were showcased in both formal and casual wears. Meanwhile, there has been a new-found love for feminine designs and elements that had stayed away from men’s wear until now.

Velvet which is a luxury fabric has returned to men’s wear while jewel tones made a grand debut on the suits. Designer Rajesh Prathap Singh’s pleated skirt and Siddartha Tytler’s sheer shirts are likely to make men’s outfits sleeker and fashionable. The India Men’s Fashion Weekend also introduced some amazing designs in men’s bottom wear. While wide-legged pants have already become a comfortable bottom wear for women; now, men too are experimenting with pleated pants. Meanwhile, brighter hues and palazzo bottoms with wide pleats were the highlights in the collection presented by Malayali designer Vivek Karunakaran.

Soft masculine
Malayalis have been enjoying big floral prints, long sleeves and oversized fits for casual wear as well as for exquisite wedding outfits. Last year, in a noted celebrity wedding, the floral printed outfit of the groom drew more attention than the fineries of the bride. The oversized shirt with floral prints worn by young music composer Sushin Syam on his wedding day had become viral. This chic outfit was designed by Vishnu Valsan for Sushin’s big day.

Monotoned shirts and boring designs are no longer part of men’s wardrobe. Men’s fashion has been experimenting with the classy look of velvet fabric, floral prints, bold colours, feminine elements and chic accessories.
