Kerala movie-goers are familiar with Bollywood diva Yami Gautam who played the female lead opposite Prithviraj in the action thriller ‘Hero’. She has also starred in Bollywood blockbusters like ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and ‘Vicky Donor’.

The actress recently shocked the tinsel town and her fans by opening up about her skin condition. In a social media post, Yami revealed that she suffers from Keratosis Pilaris. Yami, meanwhile, is earning applauds from everywhere for showing the courage to open up about it especially in an industry that forces people to hide their imperfections.

Yami wrote that she had developed this skin condition as a teenager. She has even posted a few ‘real’ pictures that aren’t air bushed. The actress said that she has finally found the courage to share the truth with her fans. The post and her pictures didn’t take too long to become viral. Later, in an interview with Midday, Yami said that she felt relieved after speaking about the skin condition that she has been suffering for years.

Yami said that she often overhears people wondering how she manages to hide this condition using makeup, on the shooting locations. In her Instagram post Yami said, “I’ve dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go all of my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my flaws.” Meanwhile, Yami is surprised by all the positive reactions that she has been receiving after posting her pics. Keratosis Pilaris is a skin condition where you get tiny bumps on the skin.
