It is hard to believe that second day of Kalyan Jewellers M4Marry Wedding Fashion Week 2018 took place at the same venue as the first show on Friday.

The overwhelming greens from Anju Modi's show on the previous day made way for a backdrop of dramatic lights and flowers and created an ambience of the country's grand monuments.

But the war horses and sword fights were replaced by stunning brides and grooms draped in Tarun Tahiliani's dazzling bridal collection.

Living up to his free-spirited style, Tahiliani lit up the show with gowns of peach undertones.

Scattered on the runway were models posing on pedestals, peeping through strings of jasmine and rose flowers.

With a chilling auditorium, intimate lighting, maroon and pastel hues and scent of fresh flowers, the show was brimming with drama.

The show opened with dramatic gothic music, followed by scattering lights. The first few designs were a combination of peach and gold, carried elegantly through the stage by amazing models.

The first round of the collection was a monochromic display of traditional Indian bridal wear.

Halfway through the show, the man of the night himself walked in with a detailed presentation on the spectacular transition of Indian fashion. The presentation, however, revolved around India's love for drapes.

Sarees, dhotis, turbans, are all mere pieces of textile draped to form something agelessly stylish, he said.

He also showcased his previous collections in the past decade that were inspired by quintessential Indian fashion weaved into revolutionary designs.

India is the only place where you can pick your grandmother's saree and still look great wearing it today, the sartorial connoisseur said.

The presentation ended with a sneak peak into the second round of the collection that evolved around the concept of keeping the drape but freeing them from managing it.

The second part of the show began with another dramatic violin piece playing in the background, contrasting the subtle but glittery pastel coloured legengas and sherwanis on the ramp.

The showstopper Kiara Advani entered donning a stunning mauve legenga that compelled applause from the audience.

Although the colours were indistinct, the embroidery combined a gamut of Indian works - zari, bandhini, zardozi, gota patti, and chikan-kaari.
