This sweet and salt twist to the plantain stem juice with cucumber and pomegranate is the start for this summer.
1. Plantain stem pomegranate juice
Ingredients
1 cup freshly sliced plantain stem
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons stevia or sugar or honey
4 to 5 fresh mint leaves
3 cups of cold water
Preparation
Slice the plantain stem into small pieces. Deseed the pomegranate. Peel and slice the ginger. Take four to five fresh mint leaves. Put the sliced plantain stem, pomegranate, ginger, mint leaves and stevia into the blender. Squeeze the lemon into the jar along with two cups of cold water. Blend smooth and strain into a serving glass along with another cup of cold water.
2. Plantain stem cucumber juice
Ingredients
1 cup freshly sliced plantain stem
1/2 cup cucumber slices
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
A pinch of salt
3 cups of cold water
Preparation
Slice the plantain stem and cucumber into small pieces. Peel and slice the ginger. Put the sliced plantain stem, cucumber, ginger and salt into the blender. Squeeze the lemon into the jar along with two cups of cold water. Blend smooth, add another cup of cold water and strain into a serving glass.
