Puttu is one of the most popular and healthiest breakfast dishes in Kerala. Be it with ripe bananas and mung beans or beef or chicken curry, the good old puttu goes well with everything.

However, it is also a fact that some people loathe puttu. So, in case there is leftover puttu, here is an amazing dish to cook with it. Not many know that delicious and plump laddoos could be easily made using puttu.

Interestingly, you would hardly realise that the laddoos are actually made with your favourite breakfast dish. Here is how to make laddoos with leftover puttu.

Ingredients
2 pieces of leftover puttu
1 tsp + 1 tsp ghee
½ cup sugar
2 -3 cardamom pods
Cloves
Food colour
Almonds, cashews and raisins

Preparation
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan
Crumble the puttu and add into the ghee
Roast well for at least a minute on low flame
Meanwhile, prepare sugar syrup by boiling sugar in half cup water
Add powdered cardamom, cloves, 1 tsp ghee and some food colour
Now add the roasted puttu
Mix well until it separates from the sides of the pan
Add cashews, almonds and raisins
Make small balls and roll into plump laddoos
Leftover puttu laddoo is ready!
