In the mood for a scrumptious yet spongy munchie with your evening tea today? Nothing can beat the easy-to-make Malabar-style kuzhi paniyaram to help you unwind after a long, stressful day and be the perfect buddy to your chai or coffee.

The iconic snack is also quite easy to prepare and loaded with protien, fibre, carbohydrates, calcium and more. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients
2 cups idli batter
1 ½ onion
2 inch piece of ginger
4 green chilies
2 tbsp urad dal
Coconut oil as required
1 tsp mustard oil

Preparation
Chop the onion, ginger and green chilies finely
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Splutter mustard seeds
Sauté ginger, green chilies and onion
Pour these into the idli batter
Mix well
Heat oil in an unniyappam vessel
Pour the flavoured batter into the holes
After two or three minutes, flip and cook the other side
Serve hot kuzhi paniyaram with tea.
