Asiad or boiled tapioca mixed with spiced meat is a speciality of Idukki. You could find chunks of meat with some bones in this extremely delicious dish. This is the perfect dish to nourish your body if you have been working hard throughout the day. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients
2 kg tapioca
1 ½ kg meat with bones
1 grated coconut
2 garlic cloves
4 shallots
3 green chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
¼ tsp turmeric powder
For the curry
1 ½ tbsp meat masala
1 ½ tbsp chili powder
1 big onion (chopped)
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tsp chopped ginger
4 garlic cloves (chopped)
Salt as required

Preparation
Cut the tapioca into small pieces
Cook the tapioca by adding all the ingredients
Meanwhile, pressure cook the meat and bones along with other ingredients on low flame
Do not add water
Make sure that the meat is cooked well will come off the bones while pulling
If there is broth, then reduce it
Add the meat/bones into the boiled tapioca
Mix well
Heat coconut oil and splutter mustard seeds
Add this tempering into Asiad
Mix well
Enjoy Asiad with some yoghurt raita.
