Curd is a very refreshing food item that can improve memory and rejuvenate the mind. Studies show that the amino acids in curd can stimulate brain cells. However, Ayurveda suggests that one should be careful about three things while consuming curd.

Do not heat

Experts say that the chemical compounds in curd alter when it is heated up. This could cause lesions, suffocation and swollen joints.

Do not consume at night

It is better not to consume curd at night.

Curd could be eaten with green grams or sugar. This packs the curd with additional nutrients. 

Here is the recipe of a curd and pomegranate combination that is very tasty and extremely nutritious.

Ingredients
1 cup lightly sour curd
10 shallots
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp cumin seeds
¼ cup pomegranate seeds
4 sprigs curry leaves
Salt as required
Coconut oil as required

Preparation
Mix salt and sugar in the curd
Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter the cumin seeds
Now add the curry leaves and shallots
Sauté well
Add this into the curd
Mix well
Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
Note: If the curd is too sour, add some water and keep aside for half an hour. Pass it through a flimsy piece of cloth to get firm curd.
