Chicken a la King is one of the most elegant and easy to make chicken dishes. With a mix of vegetables, mushroom and chicken, it is a dish with thick gravy and matches well with rice, appam and chappathi.

Ingredients
2 chicken breasts
200 gm chopped mushroom
200 gm chopped carrots
200 gm green peas
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 white onion
2 tablespoon powdered cereal
500 ml chicken stock
1 cup fresh cream
25 gm butter
1 cup milk
Garlic as required
Thyme leaves as required
White wine as required
Salt
Pepper

Preparation
Cut chicken breast into small pieces
Pour oil into a pan and cook the chicken along with chopped garlic
When the chicken starts to get cooked, add pepper, salt and thyme leaves\
Add white wine and mix well
Allow it to cook well
Transfer the cooked chicken into another dish
Add some butter to the same pan
Add chopped mushroom, onion and flour and mix well
Add a portion of the chicken stock and allow the gravy to thicken
Add some more stock to dilute the gravy
Add in the finely chopped carrots, green peas and chopped capsicum
Let it boil
Now add the cooked chicken and allow it to boil again
Add milk, fresh cream, pepper powder and salt and cook for a minute
Serve along with bread or pasta
