Ingredients
250gm broken wheat
75gm onion
1 green chilli
5gm black gram
50gm broccoli
2gm mustard seeds
5gm split Bengal gram/chana dal
10gm coriander leaves
A small bunch of curry leaves
15ml rice bran oil
Salt, as required

Preparation
Soak broken wheat in water for about two hours
Heat oil and add mustard seeds
When they begin to splutter, add black gram, split Bengal gram, curry leaves, chopped green chilli and broccoli
Strain broken wheat, add to the seasoning and mix thoroughly by adding enough water and salt
Stir continuously till the broken wheat gets cooked
Finish by sprinkling chopped coriander leaves over the upma
