Pidi are small rice balls cooked in sweet and creamy coconut milk. These rice balls are super soft and have great chewy texture as well. Check out this simple recipe of delicious pidi which is a must-try this Onam.

Ingredients
½ cup palappam powder 
1 cup water
1 tsp oil
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp grated coconut
Pinch of cumin
2 cups first extract of coconut milk
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp rice flour
½ cup water
¼ tsp cardamom powder

Preparation
Sift the palappam powder
Boil water with oil and salt in it
Add small amounts of palappam powder into the hot water and mix into soft dough
Grind grated coconut and cumin together
Add it into the dough
Make small balls or pidi from it
Mix the first extract of coconut milk with sugar and heat it up
When this begins to boil, add the small rice balls and mix
Mix the rice flour in water to prepare slurry and add it into the coconut milk-rice balls mixture
Stir well until the dish thickens up
Sprinkle the cardamom powder and take it off the heat.
