Monsoon is the time when your homes become breeding grounds for houseflies. Many find it difficult to get rid of the houseflies, especially from the kitchen. They complain that houseflies still keep coming even after cleaning the surfaces using lotions.
Houseflies sit on food items and spread severe diseases during the monsoon. Even though many kinds of sprays are available in the market that could keep away houseflies, they are loaded with chemicals that may be harmful for humans. This weekend, try these tips to get rid of houseflies in a more natural and healthy way:
1) Mix two tablespoon salt in one glass water. Spray this at the places where houseflies sit. The alkaline nature of the salt solution would keep away houseflies.
2) Blend a palmful of mint leaves and Holy Basil leaves with some water in a mixer jar. Mix this with some more water. Spray this solution wherever you want.
3)Mix ¼ cup vinegar, 3 tsp salt and some water. Store this in spray bottles and use whenever required.
4) Mix half glass water, half glass vinegar and 10 ml of store bought clove essence. You could also make the essence at home by boiling a palmful of cloves in some water. Mix lemon juice in the solution. Spray this solution at places where houseflies are found.
5) Sprinkle camphor powder wherever houseflies are found. The aroma of camphor would get rid of them.
Burning frankincense too is a good idea.
