The invention of refrigerator has not only brought a revolution in the frozen food business, but has also turned a boon to the modern working women. The food stored in the fridge is frozen to a specified temperature to preserve it.
Usually the temperature inside the fridge would be set around 1-5 degree Celsius. If the temperature inside the fridge is above 5 degree Celsius, then bacteria and other microbial organisms would propagate, which may damage the food items stored in it. Keeping the fridge clean and hygienic too is as important as setting the right temperature.
Most of us think that any food item can be stored in the fridge for as long as we want. However, experts warn that some food items, especially fruits and vegetables, shouldn’t be refrigerated as it can alter the taste and natural texture of it. Bread
Bread would easily dry up if stored in the fridge. It wouldn't get damaged up to 5 days in room temperature.
Tomato
The texture and taste of tomatoes would be lost if refrigerated. It can either be stored in plastic covers or in paper bags.
Shallots
Shallots would lose its texture as it would dry up in the fridge.
Oil
Oil stored in the fridge would get thickened easily.
Garlic
The natural taste and flavour of garlic would be lost if garlic bulbs are stored in fridge.
Honey
It would get hardened into a crystal-like consistency.
Coffee
Coffee would lose its natural taste and aroma. Besides, the other food items stored in the fridge would absorb the smell of the coffee powder.
Apple
The juice in its flesh would easily get dried up.
Banana
