It was a moment of shock and confusion when the student wing of Communist Part of India (M), Students Federation of India (SFI) offered condolence to singer S Janaki at a recent event in Kerala.
Reportedly, the leaders were remembering the eminent personalities from the field of arts and cinema who bid adieu to the world. Among them, was named S Janaki.
Now, it seems fans and followers of the veteran singer are quite disappointed and angry. Netizens have come out calling the CPI(M)-SFI as 'culturally illiterate'.
Janaki has rendered her voice for more than 48,000 songs in a career spanning 60 years. She is the recipient of four National Awards and 32 state film awards, in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Oriya.
Earlier, she had become the victim of fake death news many a time. And when the fake news spread like a wildfire, her son himself had come out giving out a statement about her health. "Mother is hale and healthy. She wanted to get settled in her home town in Andhra Pradesh. Thanks to the well-wishers who panicked over this news and I would like to say that she is perfectly alright," he had said.
