The makers of Allu Arjun-starrer 'Pushpa 2' have released the extended version of the film in theatres. As per reports, the latest version is now 20 minutes longer and comprises a few more action sequences. The extra footage also sheds more insight into the characters, thereby addressing the criticism faced by the film after its initial release in December.
The extended version is now three hours and 40 minutes as opposed to the previous duration of three hours and 20 minutes. While the film has been doing good business since its release, collecting over Rs2,700 crore, new reports reveal a huge dip in collections since the beginning of the week. As per Sacnilk estimates, the film only collected Rs 50 lakh on Day 48 (Tuesday), while on Day 47, the film grossed Rs 65 lakh at the box office.
The Hindi version of the film, according to the data tracker site, is leading in collections as compared to its original Telugu version. Some reports suggest there has been a sharp decline in box office collections owing to the film's extended version. The film starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna is the sequel to its original movie 'Pushpa 2: The Rise' and follows the reign of Pushpa as the king of the smuggling trade and his willingness to go to any extent to please his wife.
