‘Madha Gaja Raja’ starring Vishal in the lead role is setting the cash registers ringing at the box office. The movie that was released for Pongal, twelve years after it was made, has reportedly collected Rs 27.75 crore from Tamil Nadu in the first six days. ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ had a fabulous opening, garnering Rs 3.20 crore on the first day itself.
Meanwhile, the film collected Rs 3.30 crore on the second day, doubling it’s collection on day three with Rs 6.65 crore. On Day 7, the film collected Rs 7 crore. Till date, the total box office collections stood at Rs 27.75, surpassing its budget of Rs 15 crore. Though the makers had initially planned to release the film during Pongal in 2013, the production company got embroiled in a legal case, jeopardizing the film’s future. Vishal’s ‘Samar’, however, was released the same year.
'Madha Gaja Raja' starring Vishal features Anjali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in female leads. Santhanam, Sonu Sood, Manivarnan, Subbaraju, Nithin Sathya, Sadagopan Ramesh, Munna Simon and John Kokken also play prominent roles in the movie bankrolled jointly by Vishal Film Factory and Gemini Film Circuit.
