Payal Kapadia fell just short of clinching the Best Director title at this year’s Golden Globes, with Brady Corbet ultimately taking the honour for his sweeping period drama 'The Brutalist'. Kapadia’s visionary work on 'All We Imagine as Light' stood tall against an impressive lineup of nominees, including Jacques Audiard ('Emilia Perez'), Sean Baker ('Anora'), Edward Berger ('Conclave'), and Coralie Fargeat ('The Substance').

In addition to its directorial nod, 'All We Imagine as Light' earned recognition in the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture category, competing against critically acclaimed titles like 'Emilia Perez', 'I’m Still Here', and 'The Seed of the Sacred Fig'.

The film’s journey has been nothing short of groundbreaking. Earlier this year, it became the first Indian film to secure the prestigious Grand Prix at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. This milestone was followed by a cascade of accolades, including the Jury Grand Prize at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Best International Feature at the Gotham Awards, and Best International Film at the New York Film Critics Circle.
