South Korean actor Park Sung Hoon, known for his remarkable performance in 'Squid Game 2', recently faced intense criticism after sharing a controversial post on social media. The actor had posted an NSFW poster of a pornographic parody of his show on his Instagram stories. Although the post was deleted within minutes, it quickly caught the attention of netizens, sparking a backlash.
The incident occurred on December 30, when Park’s Instagram story featured the explicit poster. Despite the swift deletion, screenshots of the post circulated online, drawing widespread criticism. Many users condemned the actor’s action, labelling it as 'insensitive'. Adding to the outrage, the timing of the post coincided with national mourning in South Korea for the Jeju Air flight crash, which tragically claimed 179 lives.
Amid the growing criticism, Park Sung Hoon’s agency, BH Entertainment, released an official statement addressing the controversy. The statement explained that the post was shared accidentally while the actor was reviewing direct messages on his social media. "Park Sung Hoon received an overwhelming number of direct messages (DMs) on his social media. While checking the DMs, he accidentally uploaded the image. The actor himself was deeply shocked and feels extremely sorry for making such a mistake, especially in these circumstances. He will be more careful in the future to ensure this does not happen again," the agency clarified.
Park Sung Hoon also expressed his personal regret over the incident, acknowledging the gravity of the mistake. While some fans have shown support for the actor, the incident has left a mark on his public image during a sensitive period for the nation.
