Television director Manoj recalled the late actor Dileep Shankar’s last day on the sets of his serial. According to Manoj, they wrapped up Dileep’s portions quickly as the actor wasn't feeling well.
“He was in Thiruvananthapuram for five days to shoot for our serial. Although he stays at Ernakulam, he had arrived at the set for shooting just two days ago. Though he wrapped up the shoot, we had been trying to get in touch with him, but he didn't pick up the call. He has a habit of not attending phone calls. We noticed there was a foul odour emanating from his room when we went to the hotel to speak to him in person. This is when we informed the police,” he said.
He said Dileep had some severe health issues and was undergoing treatment for liver ailments. “But, he didn’t take the condition seriously. We used to tell him to take care of his health and urged him to take medicines on time at the sets. I have noticed him struggling when he doesn’t have medicines. So, we always reminded him to take medicines on time,” said Manoj.
The director said he last saw Dileep on December 27. “He looked ill, so we completed his portions quickly. We urged him to return to the hotel room to take rest,” he said.
