Mohanlal, whose directorial debut 'Barroz' will hit theatres on December 25, has shared an interesting update about the much-anticipated film 'Drishyam 3'. Though reports regarding 'Drishyam 3' has been doing the rounds for some time now, fans are excited to hear the update from Mohanlal, who plays Georgekutty in the movie. Mohanlal made the revelation during an interview with 'Galatta Plus'. He was talking about the film's popularity across the country.

“The script of Drishyam 2 was ready even six years before the film released. Covid happened and the film was watched by people across the globe. Covid and Drishyam created something big for the Malayalam film industry. Even when I was travelling on a flight in Gujarat, people would say, 'Oh, Mohanlal. After watching 'Drishyam', they started watching a lot of Malayalam films,'” he said. When asked about the third instalment of the film, Mohanlal confirmed, “We are trying to come out with Drishyam 3,” he said.

The makers decide to release the sequel of 'Drishyam' following popular demand. The film was later remade in Hindi using the same name and featured Ajay Devgan as Vijay Salgoankar.
