Kochi: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has bagged the Best Actor award at the Cera-Vanitha Film Awards 2020 for his performance in Lucifer. Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit presented the top award to Mohanlal during a glittering ceremony held at the Bristow Ground in Kochi on Sunday.

Manju Warrier was adjudged the Best Actress for her performance in Prathi Poovankozhi.

Actor-turned-director Prithviraj secured the Best Director award for Lucifer, which was also picked as the Best Popular Film.

Kumbalangi Nights was adjudged the Best Film.

Stars from Bollywood and Kollywood watched as the awards for the best works in Mollywood were given away. Bollywood Diva Madhuri Dixit added glitter to the gala event, while Nora Fatehi, who wooed people with her scintillating performance in item numbers, cast a spell over the audience. Indo-Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez too impressed the Keralite crowd with her dazzling dance moves.

Malayalam actresses Anu Sithara, Namitha Pramod, Anusree, Nikhila Vimal, Miya, Deepti Sati, and Ramya Nambeeshan too joined hands to turn the night into a gala event. The highlight of the awards night was the performance by Master Achuthan, who came to be known as the 'wonder boy' of Mollywood after his performance in Mammootty-starrer Mamaangam.

Prachi Tehlan, who led the Indian Netball Team in the Commonwealth Games and in the Asian Championships before becoming an actress, also put up an amazing performance.

Malayalis’ all-time favourite singer K S Chitra along with Vijay Yesudas crooned some evergreen songs.
