Yesteryear actress Indraja is still the girl-next-door with mesmerizing cat-eye. Even though the actress took a break from Mollywood, she had made sure her previous roles in about 17 films she did in Malayalam earned her a place in all hearts. Indraja was last seen in a Malayalam flick in 2007.

Now, the actress is gearing up for a comeback and she recently opened up on her life, marriage, and career break to popular magazine Vanitha.

Indraja revealed that she got married to someone outside her religion even though their parents were not supportive of it. Indraja who hails from a traditional Tulu Brahmin family got married to Absar, a Tamil television actor. She said that they waited for 6-long-years to get their family's approval. However, it did not work out as expected and they had to register the marriage, she said.

Indraja also revealed that her only wish was to get married to someone who does not smoke and drink and that Absar was somebody like that. Indraja also jokingly said that since she is a vegetarian, they have agreed on a pact that cooking non-veg would be prohibited inside the house, whereas anybody can have it from outside. She also mentioned that initially she was tensed of leaving her daughter alone while on the shoot, and now her daughter Sara who is in 6th standard, understands and supports her profession.

Born in a Chennai, Indraja was the eldest of three sisters from a Carnatic musical family. Indraja is a trained dancer and singer.
