Talk of the town is how Mollywood celebrated Kunchacko Boban's baby boy's baptism ceremony. Film fraternity flocked to bless little Izahaak. Megastar Mammootty came along with wife Sulfath, actor son Dulquer Salmaan, daughter-in-law Amal and granddaughter Maryam Ameerah when Dileep attended the ceremony at the Elamkulam Valiya Church at Kochi along with wife Kavya Madhavan, who made her first public appearance in three years.
Kunchacko and wife Priya Ann Samuel getting blessed with a baby after waiting for 14 years was a big deal for the M-Town. Those close to the Kunchacko's knew well about the mental trauma the family experienced. When the little bundle of joy arrived at last on April 17, 2019, they could not hold themselves back from joining the celebrations.
Referring to their interminable waiting, Kunchacko opened up: “Each time the test results returned negative, we plunged into new depths of depression.”
Kunchacko, speaking exclusively to Vanitha, opened up about what was going through the minds of his wife and him while waiting for a baby.
“I would say depression is a much bigger ailment today. When people keep asking you about how long you have been married and about not having a baby, it gradually pushes you into a state of unfathomable depression. Some put up a fight and come out of it while others get sucked into it. I managed to engage myself doing things that I loved to get out of that state of mind. Dancing, singing, games were some of the things that I used to do to divert myself from depression,” he said.
He had a word of advice to those going through the phase he and his wife left behind with the coming of little Izahaak.“The pain and emotions are real, so is the depression; do not allow it to keep you arrested for long. This phase of life will also pass. All you need to do is to remain happy and healthy, which will help you overcome the pain and depression,” he said.
