Veteran actress Hema Malini, 70, had bid adieu to movies since a while and now has her full focus on Lok Sabha elections 2019.
And guess how the BJP candidate from Mathura constituency in Uttar Pradesh started her campaign? She released pictures showing her working in a wheat farm, holding sickles.
The actor-turned-politician herself took to Twitter and shared pics. She wrote, "Began my Lok Sabha campaign today with the Govardhan Kshetra where I had the opportunity to interact with women working in the fields. A few fotos for u of my first day of the campaign." (sic)
Well, Hema Malini seems to have forgotten that netizens, with their eyes wide open, are making use of the pics in their own way.
While one opined that this role in real life is not the same as that of big screen another stated that she is one actress once shouted and refused to sit in a car for being small (for her).
“If Best Actor of India is Mr Narendra Modi since last 5 years, you can be the best actress”, tweeted one.
Talking a dialogue from her evergreen hit movie 'Sholay' where she played the role of Basanti, trolls and memes have surfaced online with the character.
Earlier, Hema Malini filed her nomination papers after puja performed by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Mathura on March 25. She had won from the same constituency by over 3,30,000 votes in 2014.
After filing her nomination, she had said that she share a divine connection with the holy city.
"In the last five years I have come here more than 250 times. People should understand that I am not just an MP and I have to use my talent as an actor and a danseuse as well. There is no need for me to be here 24 hours. I come and get things done in 10 days," Hema Malini had told PTI.
