Vanitha Film Awards: Mohanlal wins Best Actor, Manju Warrier is Best Actress

Kochi: Superstar Mohanlal bagged the Best Actor Award at the Vanitha Film Awards 2019 for his unmatched performance in 'Odiyan'. Mohanlal was handed over the award by veteran actor and MP Innocent. The award for the Best Actress went to Manju Warrier for her performance in 'Aami' and 'Odiyan'. Lijo Jose Pellisseri's 'Ea. Ma. Yau.' won the award for the Best Movie. Jayaram was chosen as the Best Family Hero while actor Kalidas won the Best New Comer Award. Dhanush is the Best Tamil Actor.

Vanitha Film Awards is the most popular film awards in Kerala, an event of glitz and glamour as well.

The grand performances by actresses Asha Sharath and Rima Kallingal, who are known for their incredible dance routines which combine the elegant mudras of the classical dance with the swift beats of cinematic songs, were the main attractions of the star night.

Asha Sharath, who won prestigious honors at the famed Varanasi Nrithotsav, is touted as a leading figure in Bhatanatyam in the country. The danseuse – actress has successfully performed at hundreds of stages around the globe, enthralling the audiences with her perfect mudras and graceful postures.

Rima Kallingal is a complete performer who entertains the live audience with her swift and charming moves. A trained dancer in both the contemporary and classical dance forms, she follows a unique style, combined with mesmerizing agility. Just like her opinions, Rima has developed a signature style of her own while choreographing her dance routines. Her roles in movies like 22 Female Kottayam and Rani Padmini have earned her a permanent position in the hearts of Keralites who always appreciate good cinema. The actress who made her silver screen debut through Rithu thrilled the audience at the Vanitha film awards.
