Singer K S Chithra has joined the growing number of film personalities who are actively involved in the flood relief measures in Kerala. She has decided to spend the Thiruvonam day with the inmates of the relief camps in Alappuzha. Finance minister T M Thomas Isaac too will be present at the camps during the day.

Chithra had earlier visited the relief camp at Cotton Hill School in Thiruvananthapuram and even sang a few Onam numbers.

Appreciating the work done by the volunteers at Cotton Hill school in collecting materials to be sent various relief camps in the state, Chithra handed over cleaning materials to them.

Singers Anwar Sadath and Rajalakshmy accompanied Chithra, who also flagged off the last truck from Cotton Hill School to the relief camp at Chengannur, following a request by the assistant collector, Priyanka IAS.

Chithra had already donated Rs two lakh to the chief minister’s distress relief fund.

Meanwhile, members of KALA (Kerala art lovers’ association) have been conducting various programmes at the relief camps in Alappuzha since August 21 based on a request by Thomas Isaac. This is as part of the ‘Santhwana Sangeetham’ initiative organized by KALA along with other music groups taking up social causes.
