The second-term examinations for schools following the Kerala syllabus will be conducted from December 12 to 20. Schools will close for Christmas holidays from December 21 to 29. The detailed timetable will be released soon.

In Kerala, the school academic year is divided into three terms. The first-term exams are typically held in August-September, followed by a 10-day Onam vacation. After the second term exams, schools break for Christmas holidays, and the final exams are scheduled for March, after which a two-month summer vacation begins.

Kerala school annual exam dates 2024-25
The annual examinations for classes 1 to 9 in government and aided schools across Kerala will begin by the end of February.

In Lower Primary schools attached to High Schools, annual exams will be held from February 28 to March 27. For Upper Primary classes, exams will run from February 27 to March 27. Examination schedules for stand-alone LP and UP schools are still being finalised. The class 8 exams are set from February 24 to March 20, while class 9 exams will take place from February 24 to March 27.

From this academic year onwards, only those students who secure a minimum of 30% marks in class 8 will be promoted to the higher class. For those who do not meet this requirement in the general examination, additional learning support will be provided in the following weeks, followed by a retest. The minimum marks requirement will extend to class 9 next year, and for SSLC, it will be implemented the year after.

SSLC and Higher Secondary examination dates for 2024-2025
The SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations are scheduled from March 3 to 26, starting daily at 9.30 am, with model exams set for February 17 to 21.

The Higher Secondary examinations will run from March 6 to 29, and the answer sheet evaluations will begin on April 8.
