Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala school arts festival (Kalolsavam) for the current academic year will take place in Thiruvananthapuram this December. Meanwhile, Kochi will host the state-level school sports meet from October 18 to 22. “This year’s sports meet will be conducted in the Olympic (Games) model, combining games and athletics competitions,” said General Education Minister V Sivankutty, who announced the venues and dates.
Currently, athletics events and games are organized separately. “From now on, the Olympics model will be conducted every four years, with the old arrangement followed during the intervening years,” the minister added.
The state-level festivals will be conducted based on a revised manual.
The venues and dates of the other state-level school festivals are:
TTI, PPTTI Kalolsavam: Pathanamthitta on September 4-5.
Special School Kalolsavam: Kannur from September 25-27.
State School Science Fair (Sasthrolsavam): Alappuzha from November 14-17.
Career Guidance Disha Expo: Thrissur from October 5-9.
