The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has released the list of top ranking colleges and universities in the country in 2023.
While only four institutes from Kerala featured in the overall list of top 100 institutes in the country, 14 colleges managed to make it to the top 100 colleges' list.
Kerala University ranked the first among educational institutions from the state with a national ranking of 47. Mahatma Gandhi University, National Institute of Technology Calicut and Cochin University of Science and Technology followed with ranks 52, 54 and 63, respectively.
Among colleges University College, Thiruvananthapuram (rank 26) secured the top spot followed by Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Ernakulam (30).
Among the management colleges, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode came third following IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore.
The Ministry of Education presented the eighth edition of India Rankings for the year 2023 based on ranking parameters identified and defined in the NIRF on Tuesday. The ranking framework evaluates institutions on five broad generic groups of parameters, i.e. Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception (PR).
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras continued to bag the top spot in the National Institute Ranking Framework, 2023 for the fifth consecutive year, while the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has been ranked as the best university, according to the Ministry of Education. IISc Bengaluru has bagged the second spot in the "overall" category followed by IIT Delhi.
