Minister for General Education, V Sivankutty, has said 6,005 additional posts have to be created in 2,313 schools in Kerala for 2022-23 academic year.

Of the total, 5,906 are teaching staff while the rest are non-teaching statff. While 3,080 posts have to be created for 1,106 government schools, 2,925 is the requirement for 1,207 aided schools.

The most number of posts will be created in the Malappuram district, where 694 and 889 are the numbers required in government and aided schools respectively.

Pathanamthitta district requires the least number of additional posts (62).

The minister said in a release that 1,638 posts in the government and 2,925 in the aided schools that were carried over from the 2019-20 academic year have lapsed.
