In its continuing commitment to the Green Campus concept, Yenepoya, a Deemed to be University in Mangalore,  in collaboration with Indeanta Mobility Ventures has introduced a fleet of electric vehicles for meeting its in-house transportation requirements.

The e-fleet, which was inaugurated by Dr. M. Vijayakumar Vice Chancellor on July 20, includes two electric buggies, two electric cars, 10 electric bicycles and 25 electric scooters. These vehicles enable the movement of staff and students within the campus in a manner that is convenient and eco-friendly.

The vehicles are provided along with charging infrastructure and docking points that have been created at multiple locations across the campus, thereby enabling students to pick up the vehicles at one location and drop them off at another.

Dr Aaron Rueben D’Souza, CEO and founder of Indeanta Ventures; Varun Bangera, Manager Operations; and Israr Pasha manager-sales; and Sujish, site-supervisor, were instrumental in launching the e-fleet on the university campus.

The introduction of e-vehicles will add to its credentials as an environmentally committed organisation.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sripathi Rao, Former Vice Chancellor of Kannur and Calicut Universities Abdul Rahiman, Registrar Dr. Gangadhar Somayaji, Finance Officer Mohammad Bava, Controller of Examinations Dr. Nandish, Dr. Akhter Husain – Principal Yenepoya Dental College, Dr. Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed – Principal Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre and other dignitaries were present during the occasion.
