KSRTC launches ‘travel to technology’ tour packages for students

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has launched exclusive tour packages for school and college students. These educational - leisure trips called ‘travel to technology’ are organised by KSRTC’s budget tourism cell. The students and teachers at the Government Junior Basic School, Peruvemba became part of first such trip from Palakkad district, recently . The trip, which was organised by the budget tourism cell of the Chittoor depot, included visit to the Chavakkad Marine Aquarium as well as the zoo in Thrissur. The project aims to provide students direct exposure to the industrial and technological sectors in the state. It was Malappuram district that initiated the launch of the ‘Travel to Technology’ project.
What does the package include?
The program has been designed to make the students understand the significance of industrial growth and develop an idea about the major industries that could lead the country to progress and prosperity. Around 135 tour packages have been included in this program. A visit to various industrial units in Kerala as well as ISRO, KSRTC regional workshop, United Electricals and Industries, Coir Museum and Milma Plant are part of the programme.
Students could enjoy the trip that combines knowledge and leisure, for less than Rs 500. The industries would provide food for the students on the day of their visit. Meanwhile, these one – days trips begin in the morning and returns by evening. Teachers too would accompany the students in these trips.
