Following Manorama News' report on the troubles faced by Non-Resident Malayalis to travel home during the Christmas and New Year period, railways has announced a special train from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram. The service will be from the Lok Manya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai to the Thiruvananthapuram North station. The service begins on December 19. The Mumbai - Thiruvananthapuram train will be on December 19, 26, January 2 and 9, and the Thiruvananthapuram - Mumbai train is scheduled for December 21, 28, January 4 and 11. 

The train will have 2 AC Two Tier Coaches, 6 AC Three Tier Coaches, 9 Sleper Class Coaches, 3 general class, 1-second class and 1 luggage cum brake van coach. 
How to book?
On your IRCTC app, you can spot the train as LTT KCVL SPECIAL to book the ticket. The Mumbai - Trivandrum North train's number is 01463 and it is scheduled at 4 pm from the Lok Manya Tilak Terminus. It will reach Thiruvananthapuram North aka Kochuveli station at 10.45 pm the next day. The return train (Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai) is 01464 and it will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 4.20 pm. It will reach Mumbai at 12.45 am.
