Kottayam-Ernakulam route to have a new memu: Here are the details

A new memu will be started between Palaruvi and Venad Express soon in the Kottayam - Ernakulam route, revealed Kottayam MP Francis George. He said the Railway Division Manager assured him of the same at a recently held meeting. There is a long gap between Palaruvi Express, which leaves at 6.50 am, and Venad Express at 8.30 am. It's also resulting in overcrowding in trains at the peak hours. Recently, videos of women falling unconscious in Venad Express after the Onam vacation had gone viral. Francis George has apparently demanded a Punalur - Ernakulam memu service between the two, post which the promise on the new memu was launched. New coaches have been included in the Palaruvi Express and as for Venad Express, too, an additional coach has been added removing the pantry car.
