Looking for a ride to the Neelakurinji hill? KSRTC announces new service to Kallippara

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced a new service to Kallippara in Idukki district of Kerala where the Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) flower has bloomed. The stunning purple flowers are now attracting a large number of travellers and photographers to Kallippara, a hilly region which is part of the Western Ghats in Santhanpara panchayat.
The bus will be operated from the Munnar depot of the KSRTC, starting its service at 9 am. From Munnar, the bus will reach Kallipara by 1 pm, taking the Anayirankal route. Passengers can spend two hours enjoying the sight of the purple blossoms covering the hills. The return trip is scheduled to depart from Kallippara at 3 pm and arrive at Munnar depot by 6 pm. The ticket rate is Rs 300.
“The service will be launched as soon as travellers arrive,” said a KSRTC official in Munnar.

Bus from Kothamangalam
KSRTC already conducts a service to Kallippara from its Kothamangalam depot. This bus takes the Adimali, Ponmudi, Chathurangapara and Sri Narayanapuram route to reach Santhanpara and Kallippara areas, where Neelakurinji has bloomed.
