Thiruvananthapuram: The Railways has allowed season tickets for travelling in coaches of express trains in which reservation is not required.

However, the permission is allowed for travelling only during the day time.

During the spread of Covid - 19 the railways had allowed travelling only through reservation. After the announcement of relaxation in lockdown restrictions, the railways granted permission for travelling without reservation upto 40 per cent to 50 per cent in express trains.

The season tickets have been allowed in such coaches. The Unreserved Ticketing System in Mobile (UTS) has also started functioning. Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak Kendram will also be opened.

Coaches increased in Venad express, two trains for Diwali
Three second class chair car coaches have been added to Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur Venad Express from Monday.

Two special trains are running services in view of the Diwali festival. Kanyakumari-Bangalore Jalpaiguri train will operate on November 7 and November 14. Ernakulam-Gorakhpur train will operate its services on November 8 and November 15.
