How does the prospect of a KTDC restaurant inside a KSRTC bus by the side of the Vaikom lake beach sound? That’s exactly what we can witness here. They have transformed a ramshackle KSRTC bus into a swanky new restaurant.
This was done on 50 cents land near the beach. The bus came here last year. Due to the pandemic they had halted the construction work for a while.
It was the KSRTC workers who built the restaurant inside the double decker bus. The ground floor is air-conditioned while the top floor is an open restaurant where guests can enjoy their meal watching the ocean. Around 28 guests can dine on the top floor and 20 can be seated inside the air conditioned room. They have also allocated space for 16 more guests to have a sit-down meal near the bus. This is part of a project where 40 lakhs were allotted to renovate the existing Vaikom KTDC restaurant.
According to the Regional Manager PM Manoj Kumar and Unit Officer Vikas Nobi, once the restaurant is ready, it will be open to the public the very next day.
