Cinnamon Houseboats of Spice Routes Luxury Cruises from Kerala has won the much coveted South Asian Travel Award (SATA) in recognition of its trendsetting luxury amenities on board a houseboat. 

The awards for ‘leading houseboat' were presented to Scaria Jose and Jobin J Akkarakalam, directors of Spice Routes Luxury Cruises, by Tuan SaabirVaffoor, Vice President, SATA at a special gala event held at Mount Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka. The presentation ceremony hosted tourism industry delegates from Maldives, Sri Lanka and India.

“The breathtaking backwaters of Kerala are an internationally acclaimed tourist attraction.  We have converted the barges into luxury houseboats with all modern facilities for giving the traveller a luxurious experience,” said  Jobin. 

The SATA is the first ever regional travel awards endorsed by multi-national associations providing the tourism sector of the South Asian region with recognition for their facilities and service excellence. The South Asian Travel Awards aims to encourage and raise service standards of the Tourism industry within Maldives, Sri Lanka and India.  The SATA are tightly contested with awards in 10 segments across 39 categories. This year’s competition attracted around 260 entries from the three nations.
