Kochi-Lakshadweep ship services resume as Cyclone Ockhi moves away from Kerala coast

Kochi: Ship services to Lakshadweep islands from Kochi, that were stopped on December 1 due to adverse weather conditions following Cyclone Ockhi, have been resumed.
Four ships - MV Kavaratti, MV Lagoons, MV Corals, MV Lakshadweep Sea - departed from Kochi port on Tuesday.
MV Kavaratti was originally scheduled to depart on December 1, followed by MV Lagoons on the next day and MV Corals on December 4. Hundreds of islanders were stuck in Kochi due to the delay.
Cyclone Ockhi lashed the Lakshadweep islands on December 2 causing widespread damages.
