Don't pack your selfie stick when you travel to these destinations

We hate to tell you this. But your favorite smart phone accessory is not welcome at these places and festivals. 

Milan, Italy

It was in July 2017 that Milan, in Italy decided to ban selfie sticks, food trucks and glass bottles from its streets. The ban on selfie sticks came into effect because they felt that it will put a stop to distracted, “anti-social behavior” among both residents and tourists. What can you see and do in Milan? UNESCO world heritage sites, the capital of fashion, Milan is a must visit for a traveller 

Disney parks

It is almost a year since Disney Parks across the globe banned selfie sticks. "Handheld extension poles have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast," say officials. 

Mecca

Mecca, the holiest of cities for those who profess Islam, needs no introduction. Some religious leaders feel that focusing on the perfect selfie causes a distraction to the prayers and rituals. 

Palace of Versailles

Palace of Versailles bans selfie stick because “it is a preventative measure to protect visitors and collections, especially when there is a large influx of visitors.” This UNESCO world heritage site in France is known for its beautiful palace and gardens. Constructed in 1623, this monument was expanded by Louis X1V before it became the seat of power during the French Revolution. Online reservations can be made. 

Coachella

It is not just places that have banned selfie sticks.  The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California and you cannot take your selfie stick for the event.
