Some of the old coracle boats that were more a year old were almost on the verge of dilapidation. Moreover, the shortage of boats created problems during rush hours.
New boats from Hogenakkal
Last Sunday, twenty seven new coracle boats were brought from Hogenakkal. On the next day itself, the outer surface of the boats were coated with tar. The boats were then launched into the river as soon as the tar dried.
